PJ`s of Monticell in Monticello

My wife and I decided to stop by this place on our roadtrip, and I'm glad we did! Oh my goodness, their burgers are delicious! I ordered a burger with onion rings, and my wife got her with fries. This has to be one of the Top 5 burgers we have ever had. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and tasted hot and fresh off th grill. Everything about this meal was amazing. I highly recommend PJ's!

Home style yummy food. Fish and chips were good and the bacon cheese burger was good as well. Fries were nice and crispy. Great hot cocoa. Cute building, booths and carpet could use some TLC and good scrubbing. Bathrooms are ok. Lady there is a one-woman show, takes care of the order, cooking and cleaning tables, she could be more friendly to provide a welcoming atmosphere, we were the only ones here so it was awkward... she was polite, but did the minimum interactions with her only customers. I don't care for the pay point tablets that asks to leave a tip ... especially if it's before service is rendered. Had she been a little friendly, we would have left a tip on the table. You order at the counter, she brings you your food when is readyWhen we travel we like to support local businesses instead of big chains, I guess this one is ok, would I come back again? Not really.

Decent atmosphere, very friendly staff, but the food is backyard bbq quality. Not a bad choice if that’s what you’re craving, but it was very pricy for what we got.

Just a place to eat a little. We went there in January and when we first walked in, it was so cold. But then they turned the heat on. They were helpful. The menu was simple. We just had a grilled cheese and it was fine. The seating was old and falling apart. It was just a quick stop to continue on our road trip.

These ladies know how to fry stuff! Chicken fingers and onion rings were sooooo crispy and perfect. Bacon cheeseburger also on point. Staff are super nice. it's a cool building with a beautiful interior as well. Highly recommend

Great small town restaurant. Initially I thought it was a little pricey but in reality for the amount of food and the quality it was outstanding! I really enjoyed this little place and will likely stop again on my way through!

Worth the stop....good hearty food

Not too happy with this place. The staff could be more welcoming (especially the owner herself) but she could care less I suppose. Her food was pretty good..the portions weren't the best. Enough I suppose. Just can only imagine what this place was like in its prime time..I imagine alot more customers and a much happier and more inviting scenary. Overall..I wouldn't recommend this place.

Great place to stop during a long road trip! Small town feel with tasty food. I had the fish and chips!

I love these place, very cozy like home and quite clean. Polite staff. My bacon cheeseburger ,awesome fresh vegs on applewood bacon with season fries and sweet tea. Come here when your passing through .

Came ge for a quick bite to eat while on the road. It was fast. Mainly burgers and sandwiches but is a very down home place.

Stopped for a quick bite. Food was a little on the pricey side but delicious. The place needs some updating for sure, but the main trason I decided to write a review was...we were sitting @ a little table for twoby the doorway & after being served I looked up @ DIRTY, DIRTY, AC intake vent. I understand what it's like to run a business, we own one as well....but being a restaurant, they need to be cleaner!

Great family owned burger place! Some of the best burgers you'll find. Generous portions, fresh cut fries. They offer a couple salads to round off the menu. Real old-fashioned small town burger place with friendly service. This isn't anything like an In-n-out, they offer quality specialty burgers and bring your food to you. Atmosphere & building are unique. A great find!!

Food was great, and we got served quickly. The fries were really good. Would stop here again.

The food was delicious, the people working there were pleasant, and the cook has a lovely singing voice! Highly recommend!

Funny looking house and good athmosphere

Very GOOD home cooked food. Family ran care & service! PJ burger & Fries crispy, onion rings excellent. Huge! Not your slick white fast food place at all; I like that. Tagging for a return trip meal.

Good food. Not the friendliest service

A VERY pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere.What appears to be a very small hamburger grill where you order at the counter and food is brought to you. Very clean and food was good. Reasonably priced too.

Amazing food! Pj's burger was the best burger I've ever had and the sweet and spicy wings where also the best wings I've ever had! Love this place and will be back! The women working are the sweetest nicest people I've came across in a long time. They make you feel special and welcome.
